STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 1894, page 8, column 3 SARAH (BUTLER) PAXON, 1821 - 31 Aug 1894 Died, four miles west of Orland, Aug. 31, 1894, Mrs. Sarah Paxon, wife of John Paxon. Sarah Butler was born in England in 1821. Fifty years ago she was married to John Paxon at Fort Gibson, N. Y. To them were born seven children, three of whom with the bereaved husband are left to mourn the loss of an affectionate wife and mother. Funeral services were held at her late residence on Sunday, Sept. 2, conducted by Rev. Bonny and she was laid to rest in Jackson Prairie cemetery. Children: Libbie Paxson, 1847 - 1866. Sarah (Paxson) Twichell, 1848 - 01 Oct 1925, married Theodore Bliss Twichell, 29 Apr 1846 - 1933, son of Jonas H. Twichell Sr. and Melinda (Scott) Twichell. Charles E. Paxson, 24 Sep 1849 - 04 May 1920, married 1st Hattie (Scott) Paxson, 29 Sep 1848 - 02 Apr 1873. Married 2nd, Josephine (Smith) Paxson, 04 Feb 1855 - 11 Feb 1933, daughter of Culbert and Lu Smith. William L. Paxson, 03 Sep 1851 - 20 May 1932, married Rosetta (Archer) Paxson, 22 Jul 1851 - 08 Jan 1927, daughter of Robert and Lavine Archer. John T. Paxson, 20 Apr 1855 - 06 Aug 1856. All the above are buried at Jackson Prairie Cemetery. John also has a monument at Memorial Grove, Steuben County, Indiana.
