STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, MARCH 16, 1904, page 1, column 5 MALVINA A. (BENJAMIN) PETTIT, 04 Dec 1833 - 28 Feb 1904 Malvina A. Benjamin, youngest daughter of David and Philetta Benjamin was born at Warrensville, Ohio, Dec. 4, 1833, and died Feb. 28, 1904, aged 70 years, 2 months and 24 days. Early in life she with her mother and two sisters moved to Steuben county, Ind. At about 16 years of age she accepted her Savior and entered heartily into his service. Was united in marriage to Nathaniel Pettit at 32 years of age, with whom she lived until her departure from this life. The father, mother and two sisters have gone before. Many relatives and friends with a half brother and sister, M. Gaskill and Mrs. Emma Fast, and her husband remain to mourn their loss. Deceased has lived an exemplary Christian life and has always been prominent in her Master's work to the extent of her physical ability. She has been almost a life long sufferer physically but has endured patiently and uncomplainingly. She was a good wife, a true friend, a kind neighbor and a faithful christian. In the language of Paul we may say "she has fought a good fight, she has finished her course and has kept the faith, henceforth there is laid up for her a crown of righteousness which the Lord the righteous judge will give to her the last day."
