STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28, 1903, page 1, column 5 MIRIAM LOWELL(HUFFMAN) PIXLEY, 25 Feb 1829 - 19 Jan 1903 Death of Mrs. Pixley Miriam Lowell Huffman was born in Allegheny county, New York, Feb. 25, 1829, and removed with her parents to Vermilion, Erie county, Ohio, when eleven years of age. August 27, 1844, she was married to Welcome Pixley, and in 1849 came to Pleasant Lake, Steuben county, Ind. Her worthy life was always closely identified with the best interests of the community which she formed a part. A member of the Baptist church from girlhood, in precept and example she ever stood for the cause of Christ. Her death occurred Jan. 19, 1903, at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 21 days, and her funeral was held at the Pleasant Lake, Baptist church the 21st, Elder C. S. Medbury officiating. Mrs. Pixley is survived by two sons and two daughters, three brothers and two sisters. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Miriam Lowell (Huffman) Pixley, 25 Feb 1829 - 19 Jan 1903, married J. Welcome Pixley, 1819 - 1891. They are buried at Pleasant Lake Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. CHILDREN: Almeron S. Pixley, on 15 Aug 1867, married Eveline Thompson. Their burial place unknown. POSSIBLE DAUGHTERS: Orrella Ruth (Pixley) Stetler, 1848 -1938, on 27 May 1866, married Jacob Stetler, son of William and Sarah (Raber) Stetler. Orrella and Jacob are buried at Pleasant Lake Cemetery. Mary M. (Pixley) VanAuken, 27 Oct 1851 - 18 Dec 1893, on 04 Jul 1873, married Calvin E. VanAuken, 29 Jul 1835 - 19 Jul 1910 (02 Aug per Old Settlers article). Calvin was the son of Jacob H. VanAuken and his 1st wife, Nancy (Strawway) VanAuken. Mary and Calvin are buried at Pleasant Lake Cemetery. Georgiana A. (Pixley) Miller, 1858 - 1942, on 08 Oct 1881, married Henry W.
