Steuben-Republican March 1958 CLYDE ALLEN POCOCK, was born in Steuben County, October 12, 1880, and passed away in the Cameron Hospital in Angola on March 14, 1958, at the age of 77 years. He had been in poor health since the death of his wife in December, 1955. He was married to Cleo Flossie Salander on March 27, 1907, and lived on their farm near Nevada Mills. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Fern Roose, of North Hollywood, California, and Mrs. June DeVolder, of Lake Gage; his daughter, Mrs. Cleo Dannenberg, of Dearborn, Michigan, preceded him in death; two sons, Louis, of Richmond, and Carl of near Angola; a sister, Mrs. Edith Kuhl, of Fort Wayne, and a brother Ralph, of Elkhart; three half sisters, Mrs. Bertha Pierce, of near Angola, Mrs. Edna McKenzie, of Sturgis, Michigan and Mrs. Wava Fair, near Bronson, Michigan, two half brothers, Robert, of South Bend, and Harold, near Angola; also nine grand-children. He endured many hardships during the past fifty years and many deep disappointments, but was never known to shrink from his duties or complain of his burdens. He was a great lover of nature and it was not uncommon for him to walk many miles over his farm and through the woodlands. In later years he became especially fond of the many beautiful wonders of nature, such as autumn leaves or the playful squirrels in his yard. Services were held in the Klink Funeral Home in Angola on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, with the Rev. Walter W. Throop officiating. Burial was in Jamestown Cemetery. Submitted by J.A. Childers
