Steuben -Republican November 1914 EMERETT HAYDEN (POCOCK), was born November 2, 1863, near Crooked Lake Steuben county, Indiana, on the farm now owned by Mrs. Libble Howell; she departed this life November 11, 1914, at Union Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, following a severe operation, aged 51 years and 9 days. When she was but a child her parents moved to Angola, and in a few years returned to the farm. At the age of twenty, she moved with the family to Clyde, Ohio, where she remained until her marriage to E.W. Pocock, April 10, 1887. To this union were born four children- Ina, Lulu, Maurine, who survive, and Paul, who died in infancy. In early womenhood she gave her heart to Christ and united with the Methodist Episcopal church. A gentle disposition and kind Christian spirit characterized her life. She bore her many burdens bravely for one of her strength, and endeared herself to all who come to know her. She leaves to mourn their loss, a husband, three daughters, an aged mother Mrs. Emeline Harden, of Clyde, Ohio, two sisters, Mrs. J.A. Robinson, Toledo Ohio, Miss Ida Hayden, Clyde, Ohio, and five brothers, George, Fosteria, Ohio, Clark, Kenton Ohio, Albert, Tiffin, Ohio, Fred, Los Angeles, California, and Dan, Monessen, Penn., and a host of friends who will cherish many pleasant memories of the past associations. funeral services took place in the home on Friday, at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Polhemus; burial in Greenlawn cemetery. Four brothers and one sister were present at the funeral. Submitted by J.A.Childers
