JOHN WAYNE POWERS, 11 Jun 1891 - May 1972

   John Wayne Powers, 80, died at Clearwater, Florida, Friday. 
   He was born to Della (Lash) Powers and Emry Powers near Metz on 
June 11, 1881, and was married to Luella Dick on June 28, 1913.  
For the past 19 years he had lived in Florida.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Luella, who died in 1953; 
three sons, two that died in infancy and Duane, who passed away 
April 17, 1971, and a granddaughter.
   Surviving are one son, LaMar, of Angola, five grandchildren, two 
great-grandchildren and two daughters-in-law.
   Funeral services were held at the Klink Funeral Home at 2 p.m. 
Monday with the Reverend Malcolm Meston, pastor of the Metz Church 
of Christ, officiating.  Interment followed in Powers Cemetery.

Powers, 17 Aug 1890 - 1953, daughter of George W. and Jennie 
(Clark) Dick.  John was the son of Emry Powers, 04 May 1866 - 1940, 
and Nancy Adell (Lash) Powers (commonly called Della), 12 Jul 1870 
- 1951.  All of the Powers are buried at Powers Cemetery, Steuben 
County, Indiana.

   Wendell R. Powers, 24 Aug 1917- 25 Aug 1917.
   Wolford Riley Powers. 11 Apr 1919 - 28 Apr 1919.
   LaMar Don Powers, 24 May 1920 - 26 Feb 1998, on 10 Feb 1941, 
married (no name given) and celebrated their 40th Anniversary per 
clipping in Audree Seibel Lewis' card file in the Carnegie Public 
Library of Steuben County, Angola, Indiana.
   Carmon Duane Powers, 13 Jun 1922 - 17 Apr 1971.
Burial places of the children not known.
