STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, MAY 3, 1899, page 4, column 3 JOSIAH CLARK POWERS, 18 Oct 1825 - 28 Apr 1899 DIED at his home in York township, Steuben county, Indiana, April 28, 1899, Josiah Clark Powers, aged 73 years, 6 months and 10 days. Deceased was born in Allegan county, New York, in 1825, and when twelve years of age came with his father, Stephen A. Powers, to York Township, where he continued to live, with the exception of a few months spent in Fremont recently, until his death. He was married May 18, 1854, to Rozelle Campbell, who, with two sons and one daughter, survive him. Funeral services were held at the Powers church, conducted by Rev. Kemper, of Angola, and attended by a large circle of friends and neighbors. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Josiah Clark Powers, 18 Oct 1825 - 28 Apr 1899, son of Stephen A. Springer, 07 Jun 1890 - date of death not known. Howard Powers, 08 Feb 1858 - date of death not known, married Lamora (Isenhower) Powers, 25 Jul 1862 - 1947. Mary (Powers) Brevard, 06 Apr 1862 - 28 Feb 1935, married William A. Brevard, no further information. One child died in infancy per Powers Family History, page 59.
