LEO POWERS, 31 Dec 1903 - 10 Nov 1980

   Leo Powers, 76, of Pleasant Lake, died Monday afternoon, 
November 19, while burning a fence row along the Bellefountain Road 
one mile east of Pleasant Lake.
   There will be no funeral services.  Friends may call at the 
Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, from 7 to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday).  
Ashes will be interred in Pleasant Lake Cemetery following 
cremation.
   Preferred memorials are gifts to the Steuben County Heart Fund.
   Powers was born December 31, 1903, at Hamilton, Ohio, the son of 
Thomas and Christine (Ford) Powers.
   He founded Powers Hamburger Shop in Fort Wayne in 1940.
   Surviving are his wife, Esther; four sons, Rolin Powers, of Fort 
Wayne; Galan Powers, Bethesda, Maryland; Elten Powers, of Syracuse; 
and Elden Powers, of LaGrange; three daughters, Marilyn Penick, and 
Marcia Silberg, both of Pleasant Lake; and Maribeth Green, of 
Angola; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
   A daughter, Madelyn, and two sons, Dana and Loren, have preceded 
their father in death.

   Leo Powers, 31 Dec 1903 - 10 Nov 1980, son of Thomas, 1870 - 
1924, and Christine A. (Ford) Powers, 1883 - 25 Jul 1964, married 
Esther L. (Huffman) Powers, 07 Feb 1904 - 04 Dec 1992.  Leo is 
buried at Pleasant Lake Cemetery.  Esther's burial place unknown.
   The obituary for his son, Loren Blaine Powers, 21 Nov 1942 - 03 
Jan 1980, states interment was at Pleasant Lake Cemetery, Steuben 
County, Indiana, but his name is not listed in the Cemetery Books.  
There is a difference in the spelling of his son's name, Galen in 
Loren's obituary.
   Brother, Clell Powers, 27 Jan 1907 - May 1980, in Livonia, 
Michigan, burial place unknown.
   Brother, Harold Powers, 14 Jul 1913 - 18 Jun 1977, married to 
June (_____) Powers, died in Livonia, Michigan.
