STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18 1902, page 1, column 6 CATHERINE (GREENWOOD) ENGLE RAKESTRAW, 08 Nov 1849 - 31 May 1902 Mrs. Catherine Rakestraw was born in Trumbull county, Ohio, Nov. 8, 1849, and died at her home in Springville, Utah, May 31, 1902, aged 52 years, 6 months and 23 days. The cause of her death was septic pneumonia, the result of erysipelas. Deceased was married to Mr. Engle in 1865, and to the union were born four children, two of whom, Firm Engle and Mrs. Mort Dally, survive her and their father. In 1878 she was again married to Caleb Rakestraw, of Metz, and to this union was born a daughter now Mrs. Glyda Boyer, of Utah. Her sudden death was a great surprise to her friends here whom she recently visited in good health. Her remains were buried near her late home in the far west. On 27 Jun 1878, she married Caleb Malsberry Rakestraw, 12 Jan 1821 - 02 Aug 1898. He is buried at Metz Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Caleb's first wife was Elezan R.
