MARTIN VanBUREN RANSBURG, M.D., 07 Jul 1842 - 05 Mar 1900

   DIED at his home in Salem township, March 5, 1900, Dr. Martin V. 
Ransburg, aged 57 years, 7 months and 28 days.  Deceased was born in 
Seneca county, Ohio, July 7, 1842.  In 1870 he began the study of 
medicine with Dr. T. B. Williams, of Angola, and in 1875, graduated 
from the medical college at Indianapolis, and located in Salem 
township where he practiced medicine until his last illness.  
February, 1876, he was joined in marriage with Cora E. Zeller, and 
to the union was born one son, who with the wife survive him.  The 
doctor was a member of the Masonic lodge at Hudson and the K. of P. 
lodge at Salem center.  He was a courteous gentleman and will be 
greatly missed.  Funeral services were held at Mt. Zion, conducted 
by Rev. Kemper.

   Martin VanBuren Ransburg, M.D. 07 Jul 1842 - 05 Mar 1900, married 
1st Martha Jane (Bundy) Ransburg, born about 18 Oct 1846 and died 06 
Nov 1884, aged 38 years and 19 days.  His 1st wife was not mentioned 
in his obituary.  Married 2nd Cora E. (Zeller) Ransburg, 1863 - 29 
Oct 1953, daughter of Henry and Mary (Bundy) Zeller, probably a 
relative of his first wife. Cora's 2nd husband was F. A. Ziegler, 
1862 - 1942.
   Martin was the son of George Ransburg who died 05 Sep 1878 at the 
age of 67 years, 9 months and 12 days.   His mother was Jane F. 
(Dawson) Ransburg who died Jan. 1888. 
   Son of Martin and 2nd wife Cora, George Dawson Ransburg, 28 May 
1889 - 07 Oct 1977, whose 2nd wife was Jessie Mae (McCrum) Ransburg, 
27 Apr 1894 - 06 Feb 1973. (This was noted in the cemetery books.)
All are buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana, except 
F. A. Zeigler who is buried at Hamilton Cemetery, Steuben County, 
Indiana.
