MAX RATHBUN

<>ANGOLA-Max L. Rathbun, 83, of Freemont died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at Lakeland Nursing Center in Angola.

            A 50 year Moose and Masons member, Mr. Rathbun was also a civil servant having served four years on the Freemont Town board. He was a member of the Freemont’s Men’s Quartet and was a member of the Freemont Methodist Church and Choir.

            Mr. Rathbun was born Oct. 16 1920, in Clear Lake Township in Steuben County to Ernest and Carrie (Mailey) Rathbun.

            He married Jeanette (Storey) on Feb. 18 1943, in Angola. She survives.

            Mr. Rathbun spent seven years working for American march Pump Co., in Battle Creek Mich. He also worked for Kroger  for 10 years and Gay’s Market for 25 years.

            In addition to his wife, Mr. Rathbun is survived by one son, Gary Rathbun of St, Louis, Mo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Nianne and Jeff Gay of Freemont; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

            He was preceded in death by his parents.

            A memorial service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Clear Lake Baptist Church in Freemont with the Rev., Gary Hoffman officiating.

            Memorials are to Clear Lake Baptist Church.

            Arrangements are by Beams Funeral Home of Freemont.
