STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 8, 1902, page 1, column 5 SAMANTHA (HARDSOCK) REESE, 04 Oct 1841 - 19 Dec 1901 Samantha, daughter of Isaac and Sarah Hardsock, was born in Seneca county, Ohio, Oct. 4, 1841, and died at her home in Angola, Ind., Dec. 19, 1901, aged 60 years, 2 months and 19 days. She was united in marriage to Geo. W. Reese, March 11, 1866, and to this union five children were born, two sons and three daughters, two of the latter dying in infancy, the others growing to maturity and were present at the last sad rites. Mrs. Reese was a kind and loving companion, an indulgent parent and greatly loved by all who knew her. Short services were held at the home in Angola, conducted by Rev. A. G. Neal, and also at the Powers church in York township, by Rev. A. D. Wagner. Interment in cemetery near by. All are buried at Powers Cemetery, York Township, Steuben County, Indiana. "History of Steuben Coun;ty, IN - 1885", page 853, states that George W.
