MARY A. RICHNER, 13 July 1878 - 23 Feb 1901 Mary A. Richner, daughter of R. S. (Reuben Scott) and Dora (Lacey) Richner, was born in Jackson Twp. (Steuben Co., Ind.) July 13, 1878; and died after a short illness at the home of her parents in Flint, Feb. 23, 1901, aged 22 years, 7 months and 10 days. Her condition was considered dangerous only a few days before she died, and her death, coming so suddenly, has cast a gloom over the entire community. She was one of the successful teachers of the township and was teaching when she was taken sick but she continued to teach until she was unable to do so. Being a musician of more than ordinary merit, she has always taken an active part in the musical entertainments of the vicinity; and being a music teacher as well as a school teacher. Her presence in the community will be sadly missed. Although the loss of her presence will be keenly felt by the community, it is in the home circle where it will be felt most. She improved every opportunity of doing acts of kindness for those she loved, and now that she is gone remembrance of these will linger long in the hearts of her loved ones. She leaves father, mother, brother Bennie, and sister Ina, the wife of Wm. Brugh, and a large circle of friends to mourn her departure. Funeral was conducted from the Methodist church in Flint. Elder Scott of Coldwater, (Mich.) preached the sermon from the text, "She hath done what she could." The extraordinarily large crowd attending bespeaks the esteem in which the deceased was held. She was laid to rest in the Flint cemetery, while the earth lay mantled in robes of the beautiful.??? * * * * * * (The above) from clipping in Dr. Elliott's album. The Ina Richner, wife of Wm.
