ANDREW RITTER, 28 Mar 1824 - 09 Mar 1904

   Andrew Ritter was born in Wooster, Wayne county, Ohio, March 28, 1824; 
died in Angola, March 9, 1904, aged 79 years, 11 months and 11 days.
   Deceased spent his early boyhood at Wooster, but later removed to 
Ashland county, Ohio.  Here in February, 1850, he was united in marriage 
with Eliza Winters.  To this union were born three children, Henry W., 
Emma, and Rezin.  Of these the wife and two younger children preceded him 
to the other world.  The son Henry and four brothers, Samuel, of 
Hessville, Ohio; Martin, of Newton, Kansas; Henry and Emanuel Ritter, of 
Steuben county, together with many other relatives and friends are left to 
mourn their loss.  In 1868 he with his family removed to Independence, 
Iowa, where he resided until August, 1900, when he came to Angola to live 
with his nephew, Hiram Ritter, in whose home he will be greatly missed.  
Funeral service and burial at Mt. Zion, Friday, March 11, at 10:30 a.m., 
Rev. A. G. Neal officiating.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

   Andrew Ritter, 28 Mar 1824 - 09 Mar 1904, on 12 Feb 1850, married Eliza 
(Winters) Ritter, 1830 - no date of death.  Andrew is buried at Mt. Zion 
Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.  Eliza's burial place unknown.

   Andrew was the son of Jacob Ritter, who died 08 Jan 1879, aged about 79 
years.  His mother, Mary A. (Hartzel) Ritter, died 10 Mar 1863, aged 64 
years, 5 months and 7 days.  They are buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery.  The 
Family Group Record has his mother's name as Mariah A. Hartzel.  
   Brother, Henry H. Ritter, 1831 - 1913, married Mary Elizabeth (Tubbs), 
03 Nov 1846 - 18 Apr 1934.  They are buried at O-HUD Cemetery, Steuben 
County, Indiana.
   Brother, Emanuel Ritter, 1835 - 1918, buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
