STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 1901, page 4, column 4 NATHAN DIXON ROBINSON, 19 Nov 1842 - 30 Jan 1901 Nathan Dixon Robinson was born in New Garden, Columbiana county, O., Nov. 19, 1842, and died at his home in Angola, Indiana, Jan. 30, 1901, aged 58 years, 2 months and eleven days. In the spring of 1862, he enlisted in company K, 104th Ohio volunteers and remained in active service until the close of the civil war. April 27, 1867, he moved with his parents to the farm a mile and a half north of Metz. In 1869 he was married to Salina M., the youngest daughter of Nathan B. and Sarah Townsend. To this union were born four children, two sons and two daughters, James, Alice, Sarah and Warren. One brother and three sisters are the surviving members of his family. Twenty-three years ago he became a member of the Christian church, to which in all the latter days of his life he clung steadily and consistently, for many years being an honored member of the board of deacons. Strong in his faith when he was fast succumbing to the dread disease which had long been undermining his health, showing in the last days of his sickness a fortitude characteristic of the man and endeavoring to soften the grief of parting by avoiding the mention of death which he felt was fast approaching. His life was one of purity and strict morality and he possessed the esteem and respect of those about him. The wife and children and hosts of friends mourn his loss, a loss on which a great ray of light is cast, the home of the great beyond. Throughout life, home was first in his mind, always seeking the more difficult places for himself that his family might live free from care. His war experiences were most honorable and his comrades of B. J. Crosswait Post regarded him with the strongest affection; always brave, ever ready for duty, following Sherman in his march to the sea. In this modest, unassuming life we had the most indulgent father and husband, a brave soldier and christian. Funeral services were held at the Christian church on Friday, Feb. 1, at two o'clock, Elder C. S. Medbury, assisted by Prof. L. M. Sniff, officiating. The beautiful G. A. R. burial service was also a part of the funeral exercises. Burial in Circle Hill. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION; Nathan Dixon Robinson, 19 Nov 1842 - 30 Jan 1901, married Salina (poss Selena) M.
