MINARD FAY ROSE 25 Sep 1900 -May 1974 Retired TSC professor dies; rites Sunday, May 29, 1974 newspaper Funeral services for Minard F. Rose, 73, of 600 South Darling Street, Angola, a retired Tri-State College professor, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Weicht Funeral Home. Reverend Ronald Walters, pastor of the Angola Church of Christ, officiated at the rites. Internment followed in Powers Cemetery, York Township. Rose died early Friday in the Elmhurst Hospital, Angola. When Professor Rose retired in 1967 after 30 years on the faculty at Tri-State College, the Board of Trustees honored him with the rank of Professor Emeritus. A teacher in the Mathematics and Engineering Mechanics Department, he had an A. B. degree from Hiram College and B. S. Degree from Tri- State College. Rose also attended the University of Chicago, University of Michigan, and Purdue University. Before coming to Tri-State, Rose taught in the Ashley school system from 1930 to 1936. He was born in Indiana on September 25, 1900, to Jay O. and Edith (Fay) Rose. He was a member of the Society of Engineers, Ashley Masonic Lodge and the Angola Church of Christ where he served as elder, church secretary and a teacher for many years. His wife, the former Virginia Franz, and a brother, John Wendell Rose, of Auburn, survive. He married Virginia (Franz) Rose. Brother, John Wendall Powers Rose was born 19 Nov 1906 and died 20 Jun 1984.
