STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22, 1902, page 8, column 4 MARY RUTH, 28 Jan 1835 - 16 Jan 1902 First Item: Monday afternoon, while attending her household duties, Mrs. Mary Ruth, who lives alone on West Depot street, was stricken with paralysis, from which she died Thursday morning. The funeral took place in the M. E. church Saturday at ten o'clock. OBITUARY: Mary Ruth was born in Richland county, Ohio, Jan. 28, 1835, and departed this life at her home in Hudson, Ind., Jan. 16, 1902, aged 66 years, 11 months and 10 days. She joined the Methodist Episcopal church about twelve years ago, and lived a consistant Christian till her death. She attended her last public service Sunday evening before she was taken sick on Monday evening, after which time she was unconscious to the end, which came on Thursday. She leaves one brother in Kansas, one brother and one half brother in Ohio, and a sister-in-law and family, near Hudson, to mourn their loss. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION; Mary E. The Cemetery book lists her death as 23 Jan 1902 which has to be in error as the obituary was printed on 22 Jan 1902 and gives a clear time line of her illness and death.
