STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 1901, page 4, column 4 MOSES SANBORN, 27 Aug 1819 - 25 Oct 1901 Moses Sanborn was born in New Hampshire, Aug 27, 1819, and died at the home of his eldest daughter, Mrs. A. E. McCogg, at Tappan, Kidder county, North Dakota, Oct 25, 1901, aged 82 Years, 1 month and 28 days. When two years old his parents moved to Chittenden county, Vermont, and later to Summit County, O., where, December 27, 1839, he was joined in marriage with Hannah M. Thomson, who survives him at the age of eighty years. In 1840 he and his wife moved to Steuben county, Indiana, and then moved go LaGrange county where they remained until 1866, and returned to Steuben county, remaining here until 1882 when they moved to Kidder county, North Dakota, where he farmed until 1896 (1886?), and then engaged in the mercantile business, which he continued until the spring of 1891. He was a kind and affectionate husband and father. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A son, Johney Sanborn, 08 Apr 1860 - 27 Jun 1873, aged 13 years, 2 months and 19 days, is buried at Memorial Grove Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.
