HANNAH A. (BODAY) SAYLES, 17 Sep 1845 - 19 Dec 1877

DIED---SAYLES---Two and a half miles northwest of Angola, on 
Dec. 19th, 1877, Mrs. HANNAH A. SAYLES, wife of Charles W. 
Sayles, in the 32nd year of her age.
   Mrs. Sayles was born in Putnam county, Ohio, Sept 17, 
1845, and was married at the age of 23, in Allen county, this 
state, by Esq. Nettle.  She leaves a husband and four 
children to mourn her loss.  She was a devoted wife and kind 
mother.  The family have the sympathy of a large circle of 
friends in this their sad misfortune.

   Hannah A. (Boday) Sayles, 17 Sep 1845 - 19 Dec 1877, on 19 
Jan 1868, married Charles W, Sayles, 14 Oct 1843 - 04 May 
1917.  He died in the Soldiers Home in Indiana.  He was the 
son of Daniel Sayles, born 11 Oct 1800 in New York and died 
22 Mar 1852 in LaGrange County, IN., and Abigail (Morris) 
Sayles, born about 1800 in New York and died 30 Jul 1851 in 
LaGrange County, IN.  Hannah was the daughter of Joseph and 
Rhoda Ann (Martin) Boday.  Hannah and Charles are buried at 
Crockett Cemetery, Steuben County, IN.  One of their children 
is buried at Crockett Cemetery, also, Lotey Ines Sayles who 
died 23 Mar 1878.  
   Charles 2nd wife was Josephine B. (Blandait) Sayles who 
died after 1917.

SIBLINGS OF CHARLES W. SAYLES:

   Guslavous V. Sayles, born in May 1821 and died after 1900 
in Indiana.  Before 1855 in Michigan or Indiana, he married 
Rhoda (Baker) Ireland Sayles, born 06 Sep 1817 and died 31 
Dec 1896 in Pleasant Township, Steuben County, IN.  Her 1st 
husband was King R. Ireland.
   John Burr Sayles, born about 1824 in New York and died 20 
Sep 1864 in Andersonville Prison, Georgia, while serving in 
the Civil War.  On 07 Oct 1852 in Fawn River, St. Joseph 
County, MI, he married Mary Elizabeth (Shoup) Harding Sayles, 
born 07 May 1823 in Upper Sandusky, Pickaway County, OH, and 
died 06 Sep 1913 in Vandalia, Fayette County, IL.  Mary 
married her 1st husband, Eliphalet Harding on 25 Sep 1842 in 
Lima, LaGrange County, IN.
   James Robert Sayles, born about 1825, no date of death, 
married Harriet (Gregg) Sayles, born in 1831 in New York and 
died 13 Apr 1906 in Burr Oak, St. Joseph County, MI.
   Robert Sayles was born about 1826 in New York.
   Seneca Pomeroy Sayles was born in 1831 in Pretty Prairie, 
LaGrange County, IN, and died in 1871 in Michigan.  On 24 May 
1856 in Sturgis, St. Joseph County, MI, he married his 1st 
wife, Amanda Carey/Covey, born about 1837 and died about 1864 
in Indiana or Michigan.  On 05 Mar 1865 he married his 2nd  
wife, Missouri Ann (Hoover) Sayles VanHorn,  born 05 Aug 1841 
near Louisville, KY, and died 10 Feb 1925 in Antwerp, OH.  
About 1874, Missouri married Henry S. VanHorn, no dates 
available. 
   Dwight Sayles was born about 1833 in Pennsylvania.
   Catherine (Sayles) Davis Russell, born about 1834 in New 
York, died 12 Sep 1864 in Gilead, Branch County, MI.  On 08 
Apr 1853, married her 1st husband, Chester Davis, 04 Jul 1831 
- 10 Oct 1856.  He was the son of Enoch and Eliza (Birch) 
Davis.  Her 2nd husband, Emmon Russell was born about 1836 in 
New York.
