STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, January 23, 1901 EVA (WALMER) SCHAEFFER, 07 Jun 1821 - 09 Jan 1901 Eva Walmer was born June 7, 1821, in Dauphin county, Pa., and on Nov. 4, 1847, was married to John Schaeffer, and the spring following they came to Steuben county, near Fremont, where she resided until her death, Jan. 9th, 1901. Seven children were born to the union, two of whom preceded her to the better world, one in infancy and the other at the age of ten years. The children who remain, together with the husband and father, are David, John and Daniel, Mrs. Ella Drury and Mrs. Morilla Grim. She was a member of the German M. E. church in Fremont and was liberal in the support of the gospel. When the death angel called she was ready to depart in peace. Funeral services were held on Friday, Jan. 21, conducted by Rev. T. A. Speckman, of Edon, Ohio. (Schaeffer) Drury, 1855 - 1938, married Henry A. Drury, 1853 - 1932. Daniel A. Schaeffer, 1858 - 1937, married Olive E. (Balch) Schaeffer, 1865 - 1954. Margaret Morilla/Marilla (Schaeffer) Grim, 1861 - 1939, married Elwood Grim, 1857 - 1940. All of the family is buried at Fremont Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana, with the exception of Eleanor and Henry Drury who are buried at Lakeside Cemetery.
