STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 31, 1902, page 1, column 5 PARMELIA (HUGHES) SHERROW, 19 Dec 19, 1824 - 24 Dec 1902 Parmelia, daughter of Elias and Lydia Hughes, was born in Logan county, O., Dec. 19, 1824, and died in Helmer, Ind., Dec. 24, 1902, aged 78 years and 5 days. Deceased came with her parents to Steuben county in 1836, and lived in the county until her death. She was united in marriage to William Sherrow, Aug. 1840, and to this union were born ten children, five children and the husband having gone on before. She leaves to mourn their loss, five children, an adopted daughter, eight grandchildren and many relatives and friends. She united with the U. B. church in 1865, and was a true, loyal christian. She was a patient sufferer for many years, and with a kind word for all, she waited for the time when she could go to sleep and be at rest. Son, Albert W. Sherrow, 06 Jun 1863 - 30 Apr 1918, married Carrie D. (Rhinehart) Sherrow, 14 Jul 1869 - 19 Oct 1930. They are buried at Trinity Cemetery. Possible son, Franklin C. Sherrow, 30 Dec 1848 - 27 Apr 1887, aged 38 years, 3 months and 28 days, on 13 Dec 1877, married Orena (Mongold) Sherrow, no dates. Franklin is buried at Trinity Cemetery.
