MARY E. (HASTINGS) SHERWOOD, 03 Nov 1826 - 03 Jun 1900

   At her home near Angola, Ind., June 3, 1900, Mrs. Mary E. 
Sherwood, aged 73 years and 7 months.
	Mary E.Hastings was born in Amherst, Hampshire county, Mass., 
Nov. 3, 1826.  She, with her parents, settled in Steuben county in 
1838 and was united in marriage to Almiron Sherwood Oct. 8, 1850.  
To this union were born five children, three dying in infancy, 
William B. died about five years ago.  Rosa, wife of E. S. Moore, is 
left the only survivor of the family to mourn the loss of a kind and 
loving mother, who always practiced self denial that she might help 
others.  For many years she was identified with christian people, 
but being of a retired nature her worth was only known to her most 
intimate friends.  She was borne to her last resting place by those 
who knew her best for at least 50 years.

Almiron Sylvester Sherwood, 04 Jan 1829 - 19 Nov 1882/83, son of 
William B. Sherwood, 1806 - 1862, and Rosanna (Ireland) Sherwood, 
born about 20 Mar 1807 and died 17 Sep 1870, aged 63 years, 5 months 
and 28 days.  All of the above are buried at Crockett Cemetery, 
Steuben County, Indiana.

CHILDREN:

   William Sherwood, born about 19 Apr 1853, died 22 Feb 1854, aged 
10 months, 3 days.  Crockett Cemetery.
   William (Willie) B. Sherwood, 17 May 1855 - 29 Jul 1895, on 25 
Dec 1884, married Hannah E. (Mathews) Sherwood, _______ - Oct 1925, 
the daughter of Levi and Elizabeth M. (Waller) Mathews.  William is 
buried at Crockett Cemetery and Hannah is buried at Circle Hill 
Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana.
   Rosa (Sherwood) Moore, 14 Aug 1857 - 12 May 1912, on 01 Jan 1886 
married Evart S. Moore, no dates available.  Rosa is shown as buried 
at Crockett and Circle Hill Cemeteries and Evart is shown as buried 
at Circle Hill Cemetery.
   Infant Sherwood, born and died 12 Feb 18___, buried at Crockett 
Cemetery.
