Kenneth V. Shoup, 83, Lake City, Fla., died Tuesday at Columbia Lake Medical Center.
He was born April 26, 1913, in Hillsdale County, Mich., to John and Toretta Heiserman Shoup.
A former resident of Angola and Orland, Mr. Shoup was an insurance agent for Lincoln National Life Insurance Co. since 1942. Although he semi-retired in the 1960s, he had retained certification and was partly active until his death.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Somerlott Shoup, whom he married Oct. 28, 1932; three sons, Allen of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Jerry of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Melvin of Lake City, Fla.; two brothers, Estle of Angola, and Raymond of Coldwater, Mich.; two sisters, Gladys Wathen of Orland, and Hazel Shoup of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 11 a.m. Michigan time (10 a.m. Indiana time) Saturday at Kolcz Funeral Home, Bronson, Mich., with Rev. Charles Richards officiating. Callings hours are today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Michigan time (1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Indiana)
Burial follows in Bronson Cemetery, Bronson.
