STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 2, 1903, page 1, column 7 NILES A. SOWLE, 03 Sep 1853 - 26 Nov 1903 Niles A. Sowle was born in Pleasant township, Steuben county, Sept. 3, 1853; died at his home in Angola, Nov. 26, 1903, aged 50 years, 2 months and 23 days. He was married to Mary Stevick, Aug. 7, 1873. To this union were born two sons, Charles E. and Guy E. Guy died March 14, 1896. Mr. Sowle leaves a wife, one son, four grandchildren, three brothers, two sisters and a large number of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. He was patient and hopeful in his great affliction. The many friends and relatives gathered at the Fairview church, Saturday at 2 p.m., and appropriate services were conducted by Rev. Cyrus Stockwell, pastor of the Congregational church, after which the remains of the sufferer were laid to rest in Circle Hill cemetery. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Niles A. Niles was the son of Abel Sowle, 14 Nov 1810 - 09 Sep 1882 and his 1st wife, Luana (Niles) Sowle, __ Sep 1811 - 12 Apr 1859. They are buried at Old Angola Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. His 2nd was Jane (Pattingal) Warner(?) Sowle Cole, 16 Dec 1822 - 14 Nov 1899. She is buried at Circle Hill Cemetery.
