STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22, 1902, page 4, column 2 MYRTLE S. (MOORE) SPANGLE, 25 Jan 1876 - 13 Jan 1902 Myrtle S. Moore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Moore, was born Jan. 25, 1876. Died Jan. 13, 1902, aged 25 years, 11 months and 18 days. She was married Nov. 19, 1899, to Mr. Clyde Spangle. She was a member of the Christian church and by worthy traits of character, commended herself to a wide circle of acquaintances. As a loving and dutiful child, a true friend and faithful wife, she exerted an influence for good upon all about her. She is survived by her parents, one brother, two sisters, her husband and infant son. A very large company of mourning friends and relatives gathered for the funeral services Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 15. Service was held at the late home in Millgrove township, Elder C. S. Moore, 1839 - died after 12 Jan 1902, and Rachel A. (Miller) Moore, 1841 - 1903. They are buried at Flint Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Clyde was the son of Henry Spangle, 08 Mar 1821 - 13 Aug 1907, and his 3rd wife, Sarah (Metzgar) Spangle, 22 Feb 1841 - 20 May 1912, the daughter of Adam and Mary (Leist) Metzgar. Henry and Sarah are buried at Jackson Prairie Cemetery, Lot 1. Henry Spangle's 1st wife was Mary (Coy) Spangle, 1828 - 1853. Buried at Jackson Prairie Cemetery, Lot 1. His 2nd wife was Elizabeth (Collins) Alcott Spangle, who died 25 Feb 1873. She was the widow of Michael Alcott. Buried at Jackson Prairie Cemetery, Lot 55. Clyde and Myrtle had a son, Estel Henry Spangle, 04 Jan 1902 - 18 Feb 1902, buried at Jackson Prairie Cemetery, Lot 129, with his mother. Clyde Spangle's 2nd wife was Lizzie Maud (Marsh) Spangle, 1881 - 14 Jul 1953, daughter of Chester E., 03 Jun 18453 - 1925, and Eva (Webb) Marsh, 1858 - 1946. Lizzie is buried at Jackson Prairie Cemetery, Lot 39 N with Clyde. Her parents are buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Lizzie was the sister of Elzie (Marsh) Collins, wife of Benjamin Franklin (Frank) Collins. SIBLINGS OF MYRTLE: Emmet E. Moore, 1859 - 1920, buried at Flint Cemetery.
