        SIMON SPANGLE,  who has been a resident of Steuben County for the past 35
years, died at his residence in Pleasant Township last Friday morning.  The
funeral took place Sunday from the Sand Hill Schoolhouse and was largely
attended.  Rev. P. Carland preached the sermon.  The remains were brought
to Angola and placed in a vault at Circle Hill Cemetery but will be taken
to Flint for internment when the roads become passible.
