LOUISA HASTINGS STAYNER from Steuben Republican, June 24, 1942, pg.1, col 7. LOUISA HASTINGS STAYNER Louisa Hastings Stayner, daughter of Eli and Phobe Hastings, was born August 24, 1884, in Branch County, Michigan, and departed this life, June 16, 1932, at the age of 58 years, 10 months and 8 days. She spent here girlhood at Snow Prairie in Branch County, Michigan. She was united in marriage to Edward J. Stayner, June 6, 1901, at Angola, Indiana. Her marriage brought her to Steuben County where she spent the remaining years of her life. To this union was born seven children, five boys and two girls. They were: Jesse, who died at the age of 28; Hazel, who died at the age of 31; Charles, of near Orland; Lewis, of near Orland; Albert of near Pleasant Lake; Lawrence at home; and Louise, who died at the age of 9. She leaves a brother, Nathan Hastings, of Quincy, Mich.; a sister, Jennie Cobert, of Flint; a half-brother, Charley Bordine, of Coldwater, Michigan; five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Funeral services were held on Thursday, at the Orland Congregational church, with Rev. Howard Warner officiating. Burial was in the Jackson Prairie cemetery. ADDITIONAL NOTES: Her husband, Edward Jacob Stayner, was born 08 Apr 1866 and died 17 Apr 1944. He was the son of Jesse and Catherine (Dilse) Stayner. Children: Jesse Stayner, 01 Jan 1903 - 1931.
