MILTON STAYNER from the Steuben Republican, April 19, 1911, page 1, column 5 Son of John and Sarah Stayner, was born in Richmond county, Ohio, Dec. 12, 1824. In the spring of 1832, he came to Indiana with his parents, settling on Jackson Prairie, Steuben county, where he grew to manhood. Oct. 4, 1846, he was married to Miss Eliza Campbell, and to this union seven children were born, two dying in infancy; one daughter, Frances at the early age of eleven. Two sons, William and Adelbert, of Steuben County, and two daughters, Mrs. Mary Burlew, of Medaryvillle, Indiana, and Mrs. Emma Humphrey, of Leonidas, Mich., are left to mourn the loss of their aged father, together with 15 grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Perry and Zephaniah. After an illness of only one short week, he died on April 9, 1911, at the home of his oldest son, William, with whom he has made his home for the last 16 years; aged 86 years, 3 months and 28 days. Funeral services were held in the home on Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. John Humfreys, of Angola; interment took place at Jackson Prairie cemetery, the grandchildren acting as pall bearers. ADDITIONAL NOTES: Milton's father, John Stayner, born 8 Dec 1796, died 05 Sep 1870, married Sarah Huntsman, on 06 Mar 1817. She was born 12 Jan 1797 and died 15 Feb 1873. They are buried at Jackson Prairie cemetery, Orland, Steuben county, Indiana. Milton's wife, Eliza Jane Campbell, was born 21 Feb 1828 and died 21 Oct 1883. She is buried at Jackson Prairie Cemetery. Milton's son, William Leroy Stayner, born about 1847, died 07 Nov 1922, married Jane Matilda Castell who was born 28 Mar 1847 and died 15 Apr 1914. They were married 04 July 1875. They are buried at Jackson Prairie Cemetery. Milton's son, Adelbert Stayner, born 11 Feb 1863, died 07 Mar 1950, married Harriett Shaffstall (no date available). She was born Mar 1871 and died in 1935. They are buried at Jackson Prairie Cemetery. Milton's daughter, Mary Eliza Stayner, was born 08 Apr 1852. She married John Milton Burlew, 15 Mar 1874. No other information available. Milton's daughter, Emma Marie Stayner, born 5 May 1866 and died in 1921. She married Elmer Humphrey (1862-1922). They are buried at Jackson Prairie Cemetery.
