MISS ZORA STAYNER from Steuben Republican, November 6, 1968, pg 2, col 5 MISS ZORA STAYNER Miss Zora Anna Stayner was born in Pleasant Township, Steuben County, May 3, 1884, the daughter of the late William L. and Jane Stayner. She departed this life Nov. 1, 1968, at the age of 84 years, 5 months, 29 days. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Matilda (Tillie) Evans of Flint, Michigan; a brother, William Stayner of Angola; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 4, at the Weicht Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wayne Davis, pastor of the Flint United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in Jackson Prairie Cemetery in Jackson Township, Steuben County. ADDITIONAL NOTES: Zora's father was William Leroy Stayner (1847-07 Nov 1922), son of Milton and Eliza Jane (Campbell) Stayner. Her mother was Jane Matilda (Castell) Stayner (28 Mar 1847-15 Apr 1914). They are buried at Jackson Prairie Cemetery, Orland, Indiana. A brother, Roy Stanley Stayner (5 Jul 1880-03 Jan 1958) is buried with his wife, Bertha (Maugherman) Stayner (19 Oct 1884-27 Sep 1928) at Jackson Prairie Cemetery, Orland, Indiana. Another brother, John Milton Stayner (1883-1922) is buried in Jackson Prairie Cemetery, Orland, Indiana. He was married to Lydia (Bowerman) Stayner.
