Lois Ann Stevens was born in Montezuma, New York, July 19 1819. She was
married to W. H. McIntyre in Townsend, Sandusky County, Ohio April 4, 1839.
The fruits of this happy union was 8 children 4 sons and 4 daughters. In
1858 with her family she moved to Williams County Ohio, and in 1868 to
Steuben County, Ind. She has been a resident of Fremont since 1875. She
united with the U. B. Church in 1855 and then with the M. E. Church by
letter in 1886. On Monday morning, Jan. 21, 1895, she went "over the river"
to join her husband, 3 sons and one daughter. She was the grandmother of 18
children and the great grandmother of 13. She was devoted and loyal to the
church an earnest, exemplary Christian, a kind, affectionate mother. She
bore her affliction with patience and meekness. A few hours before her
departure she said to the writer:"With all my pain and suffering, I have a
calm sweet peace in Jesus; all is well."
