GEORGE STOVER, 31 AUG 1838 - 02 DEC 1917 George Stover, son of Ephraim(sp) and Margaret Stover, was born in Stark County, Ohio, August 31, 1838, died at his home in Angola, December 2, 1917, aged 79 years, 3 months and 2 days. He was united in marriage to Sarah Fackler, January 1, 1868. To this union were born three children, Vernon G., of Chicago, Illinois; Edith M. Campbell, of Fort Wayne; and Walter C., who is living on the home farm near Salem Center. He leaves his wife, the companion of his youth who shared his joys and sorrows for nearly fifty years, two sons, one daughter, five grand children, two sisters and many other relatives and friends. Mr. Stover joined the United Brethren church at Mount Zion in the fall of 1878 and remained a faithful member till he was called away. He was a trustee of the church for a number of years and was the first superintendent of the Trinity Church Sunday School. Mr. Stover was a child six weeks old when his parents came to Indiana, his father having purchased a farm two miles east of Salem Center. In 1872 he bought part of the farm and lived on it continuously for almost 77 years, when he retired and bought a home in Angola, where he lived until called to the better world. His boyhood days were spent amidst the hardships and privations of the pioneer life. His mother departed this life in March 1854; his father lived with him for several years and passed away in April, 1878. Funeral services were held in Trinity Church. The sermon was preached by Rev. John Humfreys, of Angola; the Rev. Mr. Hart, minister of Trinity, assisting in the services. The interment was at Trinity Cemetery. Fackler, who died 10 Jun 1883, aged 70 years, 10 months and 4 days, and Isabella (Smith) Fackler, 22 Dec 1838 - 19 Feb 1918. George was the son of Ephriam Stover, 12 Apr 1790 - 17 Apr 1878, and Margaret (Noll) Stover, born about 11 Dec 1812, and died 01 Mar 1854. They are all buried at Trinity Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Elizabeth Stover, 05 Mar 1851 - 20 Sep 1858, buried with Ephriam and Margaret (Noll) Stover at Trinity Cemetery. Isaac Stover, 02 Aug 1843 - 11 Oct 1869, married Emma L. (Tubbs) Stover Allen Wolf, 06 Nov 1850 - 04 Aug 1900, daughter of Leroy and Rhoda J. (Hillls) Tubbs. Emma's 2nd husband was Roy (or Leroy) Allen. Her 3rd husband was Joseph Wolf, 12 May 1839 - 09 Oct 1912. His 1st wife was Jane (Anderson) Wolf, 23 Jun 1850 - 05 Aug 1877. Isaac Stover is buried at Trinity Cemetery. Emma Wolf, Joseph Wolf, and Jane Wolf are buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Samuel Stover, 26 Aug 1836 - 1906, married Emeline (Ransburg) Stover, 1844 - 15 Aug 1940, daughter of Leander and _____Ransburg. They are buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
