STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 1903, page 1, column 6 LOTTIE R. STOWE, 10 Jun 1842 - 18 Nov 1903 Lottie R. Stowe was born in Summit county, Ohio, June 10, 1842, and departed this life at her home in Angola, Indiana, Nov. 18, 1903, aged 61 years, 10 months and 8 days. Deceased was married to Sylvester J. Stowe, Feb. 14, 1864, and after 18 years they moved to Metz where they lived about ten years and then moved to Angola. A husband, two sons, Will and Roy in Angola, and a daughter in Michigan, and also a brother and sister in Michigan and a brother in Montana are left to mourn their loss. Mrs. Stowe was a loyal member of the Angola Christian church, her life of gentle, Christian refinement telling for good works. Though a sufferer for a long period of time, she bore her burdens uncomplainingly and leaves a memory the most tenderly helpful. Funeral at the Metz Christian church, Thursday afternoon, Nov. 19, Elder C. S. Medbury officiating. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Lottie R. (______) Stowe, 10 Jul 1842 - 18 Nov 1903, married Sylvester J. Stowe, 1839, no date of death or burial place for Sylvester. Lottie is not in the Cemetery Book. CHILDREN: William F. Stowe, born about 1868, no date of death, on 21 Sep 1889, married Claressa E. (Scoville) Stowe, 1865 - 1912, daughter of William Dennison Scoville and his 2nd wife, Julia Ann (Trowbridge) Scoville. William and Claressa are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. Jennie Stowe, born about 1876, no further information. Roy Stowe, no further information. In the 1880 United States Census, Casco, Allegan County, Michigan, Family History Library #1254569, NA Film #T9-0569, page #348D, lists the children, William and Jennie, so perhaps Roy was born after 1880.
