Delevan Sutton

Delevan Sutton was born in Scott township, Steuben county, Indiana, on March 20, 1877.  He was the oldest of four children born to Roswell and Emma Waller Sutton. He passed away on August, 12, 1935 at the age of 58 years, 4 months and 23 days. 

On April 18, 1903 he was united in marriage to Cora Swift.  To this union was born 12 children, Herschel, Mrs. Josephine Lonsbury and Wayne of Angola; Robert II of Rushville, Ind.; Mrs. Violet Frederick of Auburn, Ind; and Marshall, Lyle, LuReign, Madeline and LaMar at home, and Donna Marcelle who died in infancy. 

He was a devoted husband and companion, a loving father, and a kind, helpful neighbor.  He was known in the community as an industrious and neighborly man; always honest in his dealings. His family was his first thought.  

He will be greatly missed be his ever helpful and loving wife, eleven children, nine grand children, a brother, Robert, of Angola and a sister, Mrs Lela Hansleman, also of Angola, besides a host of other relatives and friends.  

Funeral services were held at the Klink Funeral home in Angola on Wednesday, August 14, with the interment in the South Scott cemetery.
