                                    MRS. FRANCES SUTTON

Frances I. Brode, daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth Brode, was born on March 20, 1853, in Luzerne, Pennsylvania.
On Oct. 25, 1870, she was united in marriage to Thomas W. Sutton.  To them were born eight children; all of whom preceeded their mother in death except Clyde, of Peoria, Ill., and Charles, of Angola, Ind.  Her husband died in Nov. 1, 1889.  Mrs. Sutton was a member of the M. E. church in Angola, for many years, until death claimed her on May 29, 1923.  She was aged 70 years,
two month and nine days.
She was an industrious woman, a kind friend, thinking of others, especially of the sick.  She was well loved and will be missed very much.  She is survived by two sons, three grand daughters, Marvell, Frances and Helen Sutton; two grand sons, Raymond and Kenneth Sutton; one brother, Reuben Brode, of Peoria, Ill., and a host of other relatives and friends.
We loved her, yes we loved her,
But the Angels loved her more.
And they have sweetly called her
    To yonder shining shore.
    The golden gates were open,
    A gentle voice said, "Come."
    And with farewells unspoken,
    She calmly entered home.
                Card of Thanks
We desire to thank the friends and neighbors for the many kindnesses shown us during the death of our beloved mother.
        Clyde Sutton and family
        Charles Sutton and family

Note:  Frances shows up on the 1850 Census for Newport Township, Luzerne County, Pa. at the age of "3/12" years.  Obviously the date of birth in the obituary is wrong, and she would have been 73 when she died, not 70.  Her exact birthdate is unknown.
