Luther Sutton from Steuben Republican 22  April 1908, P1 C5

Luther Sutton was born in Allen county Ohio July 4th 1834 and died at his home in Steuben Township, Steuben County, Ind., April 16, 1908. Aged 73 years, 9 months and 12 days.

When a young man he went west and on April 7, 1859 at Ruthland, Vermont, was joined in Marriage with Miss Jane Hubbell, and to the union were born seven children, Moses E. and Abraham L. of Omaha, Nebraska; Mary Sutton Morgan and Charles Sutton of Cleveland, Ohio; Ulysses G. of Montana; David M. of Pleasant Lake and Alfred, deceased.

In the death of Mr. Sutton a good man, husband and father has fallen.  His life knew the toll and hardship of primitive days. Belief in an over ruling power was as natural as the air and sunshine, and who would desire to take away the solace and comfort of such a belief.

Funeral services were held at the South Scott church on Sunday afternoon, April 19, conducted by Elder Vernon Stauffer.

Note : Luther married Jane Hubbell in 7 May 1860 in Rutland, Wisconsin.  Not Vermont.
