TEAL, 14 Jul 1815 - 12 Apr 1899 (Picture included with obit) The subject of the above sketch was born in Fairfield Co., O., July 14, 1815, and died April 12th, 1899, aged 83 years, 8 months and 28 days. In 1836 he came to Steuben county, Indiana, and entered a piece of land in Salem township, and then returned to his home in Ohio where he was married on the anniversary of his birth, July 14, 1836, to Sarah G. Teal, and on Sept. 30th of the same year, they located on the farm in Salem. To the union were born four children, three of whom died in infancy, only one, Mrs. Elizabeth Richardson, surviving. Mrs. Teal died several years ago. At the time of his death, Mr. Teal was the only man in Steuben county living on the land that he entered from the government. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church in Salem, April 15, Rev. F. M. Kemper, of Angola, officiating. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Eli M. Teal, 14 Jul 1815 - 12 Apr 1899, married Sarah G. (______) Teal, 05 Mar 1818 - 19 Jul 1886. "Infant", died 25 Apr 1837. Hammond Teal, died 10 Oct 1843, aged 3 months and 5 days. Washington Teal, died 04 Apr 1844, aged 3 months. Elizabeth M. (Teal) Richardson, 1845 - 1923, married Myron E. Richardson who died 01 Jul 1882, aged 49 years and 3 months. All of the above are buried at Block Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.
