Steuben-Republican October 1908 Mary Miller Towns was born in Logan County, Ohio, July 19, 1832 and died at her home northeast of Hudson, Indiana, October 16, 1908, age 76 years 2 months and 27 days. Deceased came to this county at the age of 16 years. She was united in marriage to Jasper Towns in 1852. The husband departed this life January 21, 1897. To this union were born three children, two sons and one daughter. The oldest son, Sylvester died at Fort Wayne, Indiana on February 12, 1906, Nelson who resides at Denver, Colorado and Mrs. Rachel Towns Sidell at the old home. Mrs. Towns met with an accident about twenty years ago that made her a cripple the rest of her life. She bore her afflictions with patience and her daughter, Mrs. Sidell has given her a daughters love and care all these years. Besides the two children, she leaves one grandson, Nelson Jr. , one half-sister, Mrs. Nancy Stone of Angola, two half-brothers, Sylvanes and Henry Miller of Kansas. Some years ago she embraced Christ, near the time of her sad accident which hindered her from attending public services. The funeral was conducted by Elder A. McClellan of Hudson from John 17:3 and we laid her at rest in the beautiful cemetery at Mount Zion. Peace be to her ashes. Sent in by J.A. Childers
