STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 1882, p.8, c.3. ELNORA A. (HICKS) TWICHELL, 28 Oct 1839 - 18 Sep 1882 DIED - Twichell - In Indianapolis, September 18, 1882, Elnora A., wife of W. H. Twichell, aged 42 years, 19 months and 20 days. Elnora A. Hicks was born in Pennsylvania, October 28, 1839. When quite young she came to this county with her parents. On November 17, 1859, she was married to W. Homer Twichell. Two children resulted from this union but both died - one in August, 1862, at the age of 2 years and the other in November, 1871, at the age of 6 years. Many years ago Mrs. Twichell was a member of the Presbyterian church which was established here and soon after the organization of the Congregational church, united with it and remained one of the most earnest members until her death. About eleven years ago, soon after the death of her little boy, it became evident that her mind was affected but after a time she became restored to a normal condition. A few years later she was again affected and was taken to the asylum at Indianapolis, where her recovery was brought about. From the time she returned home until a few weeks ago she enjoyed good health. The particulars of her last attack have been given before, therefore repetition is unnecessary. They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. William Homer Twichell was the son of Benjamin S. Twichell, 04 Jul 1806 - 05 Aug 1868, and Sabra C. (Rodgers) Twichell, 08 May 1806 - 05 May 1874. They are buried at Memorial Grove Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. CHILDREN: Cortez Jennings Twichell, 13 Aug 1860 - 30 Aug 1862. Bobert/Robbie Benjamin Twichell, 05 Jan 1866 - 11 Nov 1871. They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery.
