AURELIA (ALDRICH) VanZILE, 02 Nov 1846 - 20 Feb 1917 Aurelia, daughter of David and Mary Aldrich, was born in DeKalb county, Indiana, Nov. 2nd, 1846, and died at her home in Steuben county, Feb. 20th, 1917. She moved from DeKalb to Steuben county with her parents when about 10 years of age and to her present home in 1865, having spent over 50 years of her life here. United with the M. E. church in 1863, remaining for a number of years, faithfully discharging the duties of Christian life. At the age of 30 years she withdrew from the M. E. church and joined the Christian church of Hamilton, Ind., where her spiritual home was until called to join the happy throng in the mansions prepared for His loved ones. She was united in marriage with George W. VanZile, May 15th, 1864. To this union were born four children, three sons and one daughter. Two survive her, Orlie L., who with his faithful helpmeet have so tenderly cared for her in her long illness, and Mrs. Edward Wright, of Oklahoma City, Okla. David, the eldest, died in infancy. William died in early manhood. She leaves to mourn their loss two children, seven grand children, two great grand children, two sisters, Mrs. Solomon Cox and Mrs. Jacob Baker, of Angola, and many other relatives and friends. She was a loving wife, an indulgent mother, a good friend and neighbor, ever ready to give a helping hand, especially in sickness, often times spending days and weeks ministering at the bedside of affliction. It seemed her greatest pleasure to give relief to suffering humanity. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Aurelia (Aldrich) VanZile, 02 Nov 1846 - 20 Feb 1917, on 15 May 1864 married George VanZile. Probably buried on the Aldrich plot at Pleasant Lake Cemetery, Steuben County, IN. Aurelia was the daughter of David W. Aldrich, 29 Mar 1817 - 27 Sep 1881, who, on 14 Feb 1838, married Mary (Jackman) Aldrich, born 16 Sep 1818. Probably buried on the Aldrich plot at Pleasant Lake Cemetery. Mary was the daughter of Robert and Phebe (Vail) Jackman. CHILDREN OF THE MARRIAGE: David Aldrich VanZile, died in infancy. Orlie Lonzo VanZile, born 20 Feb 1870 in Steuben County, IN, died 16 Jul 1943. On 25 Dec 1895 in Steuben County, IN, married Sarah Lusina/Sina (Struble) VanZile, born in 1883 in Angola, Steuben County, IN. Died in 1935. They are buried in Eddy Cemetery, Hamilton, DeKalb County, IN. She was the daughter of Richard L. Struble, born Mar 1850 in Chester Township, Morrow County, OH; died 23 Dec 1916 in Otsego Township, Steuben County, IN. and Regretta (Jones) Struble, born in 1849 in OH, died in 1871, who are buried at Otsego Center, Otsego Township, Steuben County, IN. Olive (VanZile) Wright, age 8 on the 1880 United States Census, on 30 Mar 1889, married Edward Wright. William VanZile, 27 Aug 1875 - 01 May 1900, on 25 Dec 1897, married Zella (Haines) VanZile. They are buried at Flint Cemetery, Steuben County, IN. SIBLINGS OF AURELIA (ALDRICH) VanZile: Nancy B. (Aldrich) Cox, 17 Nov 1841 - 31 Jan 1918, on 06 Nov 1859 in Steuben County, IN, married Solomon Cox, 17 Sep 1840 - 03 Apr 1919 (died in Ft. Wayne, Allen County, IN). He was the son of William M. Cox, 27 Feb 1815 - 22 Mar 1864 and Margareta Ann (____) Cox, 01 Jan 1820 - 1914. Nancy and Solomon are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, IN. William and Margareta are buried at Alverado Cemetery, Steuben County, IN. Lydia H. (Aldrich) Baker, 19 Oct 1843 - 1924, married Jacob Baker, 12 Dec 1837 - 1928. He was the son of Samuel Baker, 19 Jun 1801 - 11 Apr 1884, and Sarah (Shriver) Baker, 01 Apr 1803 - 27 Dec 1886. They were married 05 Nov 1829 in Louden County, KY. Lydia and Jacob are buried at Hamilton Cemetery, Steuben County, IN. Samuel and Sarah are buried at Alvarado Cemetery, Steuben County, IN. Christiana Aldrich died in infancy. Phebe (Aldrich) Wrench.
