CLARENCE C. WAITE, 25 Aug 1880 - 15 Nov 1969

   A patient in the Glen Oaks Nursing Home, Auburn, Clarence 
C. Waite, 89, of 616 East Maumee Street, Angola, died 
Saturday evening.
   Survivors include one son, Robert, of Angola; four 
daughters, Mrs. Lucille Smurr, of Angola; Mrs. Mildred 
Powers, of Butler; Mrs. Evelyn Watts, Union, Michigan, and 
Mrs. Betty Porter, of California; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-
grandchildren; one brother, Perry, of Angola, and a sister, 
Mrs. Laura Hayward, of Coldwater, Michigan.
   Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the 
Weicht Funeral Home with the Reverend Doyle Pavy, pastor of 
the Angola United Methodist Church, officiating.  Interment 
followed in Flint Cemetery.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

   Clarence C. Waite, 25 Aug 1880 - 15 Nov 1969, married Oda 
E. (Mercer) Waite, 04 Jan 1892 - May 1969.  They are buried 
at Flint Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.  Clarence was the 
son of Aaron Waite, 18 May 1851 - 19 Jan 1922, and Ella 
(Cobert) Waite, 27 Feb 1860 - 17 Mar 1906.  Aaron and Ella 
are buried at Flint Cemetery.  Aaron Waite was the son of a 
pioneer family, Horace Waite, 02 Apr 1814 - 20 Apr 1897, 
married Mary J. (Stayner) Waite, 23 Mar 1818 - 15 May 1867, 
who with her parents, John Stayner, 08 Dec 1796 - 05 Sep 
1870, and Sarah (Huntsman) Stayner, 12 Jan 1797 - 15 Feb 
1893, were pioneer settlers of Steuben County.  They are 
buried at Jackson Prairie Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.

CHILDEN:
   Jane Lucile (Waite) Smurr Harman, 01 Apr 1911 - 31 Aug 
1987, married 1st, Paul J. Smurr, 28 May 1909 - Apr 1971, son 
of Floyd and Goldie (Cosner) Smurr.  Jane Lucile and Paul are 
buried at Flint Cemetery.  She married 2nd, Ford L. Harman, 
27 May 1905 - 23 Jun 1986.  He is buried at Circle Hill 
Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana.
   Robert C. Waite, 28 Jun 1918 - 27 Oct 1992, married Betty 
(Sams) Waite, burial place unknown.

BROTHER:  Perry J. Waite, 11 May 1883 - 16 Mar 1980, married 
1st, Edna Pearl (Miller) Waite, 03 Nov 1886 - 09 May 1927.  
He married 2nd, Myrtle (McKellips) Barnhouse Proehl Waite, 
1883 - 1980.
