ESTHER JANE (ICKES) WAITE, 19 Nov 1907 - 20 Feb 1999

   Esther Jane Waite of Crooked Lake, died Saturday at 
Lakeland Nursing Home, Angola.
   She was born in Steuben County on Nov. 19, 1907, to Adam 
and Della (Thompson) Ickes.
   Mrs. Waite was a homemaker.  She also was a 50-year member 
of the Angola women of the Moose and a member of the Silver 
Lake Ladies Aid.
   Her husband, Loren, whom she married March 4, 
1928,preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1972.
   Surviving are two sons, Carlton of Indianapolis and Don of 
Angola; a daughter, Lorna Alexander of Gulf Shores, Ala.; 10 
grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and one brother, 
Carroll Ickes of Angola.
   Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Weicht Funeral 
Home, Angola, with Rev. James Butler officiating.  Burial 
will be in Flint Cemetery, Steuben County.  A Women of the 
Moose service was held Tuesday evening.
   Memorials are to the donor's choice.

married Lorin/Loren H. Waite, 14 May 1906 - 22 Feb 1972.  
They are buried at Flint Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.

   Esther was the daughter of Adam Ickes, 1865 - 1950, and 
Della (Thompson) Ickes, 1878 - 1946.  They are buried at 
Pleasant Lake Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.

   Lorin/Loren was the son of Perry J. Waite, 11 May 1883 - 
16 Mar 1980, and his 1st wife, Edna Pearl (Miller) Waite, 03 
Nov 1886 - 09 May 1927.  They are buried at Flint Cemetery.
