Angola Woman, Man Die in Florida Crash Two Angola persons were killed and four others were injured in a car-truck accident near Clewiston, Florida, on Tuesday, February 22. The six were vacationing in Florida. The victims, Mrs. Verna May DeLancey, 64, and Lorin H. Waite, 65, both were dead on arrival at Henry General Hospital, Clewiston. Injured were Floyd DeLancey, husband of one of the victims, and Mrs. Esther Waite, wife of the other victim, along with another Angola couple, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dodge. Mr. Dodge was treated and released from the hospital the day of the accident, but the others are still confined to the Henry General Hospital. Rites for Waite were held at the Weicht Funeral Home at 3:30 p.m., Saturday with the Reverend Doyle Pavy, pastor of the Angola United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Flint Cemetery. A contractor and builder, Waite was born May 14, 1906, at Flint, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Waite, who reside at Crooked Lake. He was married to Esther Ickes on March 4, 1928. She also survives. Waite was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Steuben Contractors Association. Surviving in addition to his parents and wife are a daughter, Lorna Alexander, of Port Huron, Michigan; two sons, Don, of Angola, and Carlton, Indianapolis; ten grandchildren; one brother, Vernon, of Angola; and a sister, Mrs. Dick Courtright of Route 1, Hudson.
