PERRY J. WAITE, 11 May 1883 - 16 Mar 1980

   Perry J. Waite, 96, of Route 5, died Sunday afternoon, 
March 16, in Cameron Memorial Community Hospital, Angola.
   Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) in 
the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, with Reverend John Newell,  
pastor of the Salem Center Presbyterian Church, officiating.  
Interment will follow in Flint Cemetery.
   Waite was born May 11, 1883, in Branch County, Michigan, 
the son of Aaron and May Ella (Cobert) Waite.
   He was united in marriage to Edna Pearl Miller on 
Christmas day, 1904, at Elmira.  She died on May 9, 1927.  He 
then married Myrtle Barnhouse Proehl on July 31, 1935.  She 
survives.
   Waite founded Waite Construction Company in 1905 and was 
owner and operator of the Oak Grove Grocery at Crooked Lake 
from 1947 to 1964.
   He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Angola.
   Survivors in addition to his wife are a daughter, Mrs. 
Dick (Edythe) Courtright, of Hudson; one son, Vernon Waite, 
of Angola; a stepson, Marcus Proehl, of Angola; a daughter-
in-law, Esther Waite, also of Angola; nine grandchildren; two 
step-grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two step-great-
grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
   A son, Lorin Waite, and daughter, Birdella Brown, preceded 
their father in death.

Waite, 18 May 1851 - 19 Jan 1922, and May Ella (Cobert) 
Waite, 27 Feb 1860 - 27 Mar 1906.  Perry married 1st, Edna 
Pearl (Miller) Waite, 03 Nov 1886 - 09 May 1927.  His 2nd 
wife was Myrtle (McKellips) Barnhouse Proehl Waite.  They are 
all buried at Flint Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.

CHILDREN:

   Edythe E. (Waite) Courtright, 18 Jun 1910 - 17 Aug 2001, 
married Dick Courtright, 10 Aug 1906 - 07 Mar 1984.  They are 
buried at Flint Cemetery.
   Lorin H. Waite, 14 May 1906 - 12 Feb 1972, married Esther 
(Ickes) Waite, 10 Nov 1907 - 20 Feb 1999.  They are buried at 
Flint Cemetery.
   Birdella P. (Waite) Brown, 1913 - 1965, married Kenneth L. 
Brown, 25 May 1913 - 12 Aug 1994.  Kenneth married 2nd, 
Wreatha Cordell (Fisher) Brown.  They are all buried at Flint 
Cemetery.
