Steuben-Republican 18 February 1885 P.5 clm 4 Mrs. Grace Webb was born in Glostershire, England, in the year 1800. She was married to John Webb at Bath, England, in 1821, and emigrated to the United States in 1831. She was with her husband and family, a pioneer settler in Michigan in 1837. In 1838, she removed to Indiana. Her husband died in 1878, and since that time she has resided with her children, principally with her daughter, Mrs. Covell, of Garrett, where she died February 10, 1885. She was the mother of ten children, six of whom survive her, five of whom were present at her death. She united with the M.E. Church in her youth and was all her life a zealous christian and active member. When she could no longer go to church, she was ever mindful of the church at Garrett, always remembering that lights and fuel were needed for the comfort of the congregation, and never failing to send her mite, and prompt to give of her limited means a liberal share for the support of the gospel. Remains were interred in this county. *Note from J.A. Childers- The famly was living in Wisconson in the 1850 census, not in Steuben County. I believe the date of 1838 was a misprint in the paper.
