CATHARINE (SCHAAB) WEICHT, 03 Aug 1832 - 25 Dec 1896

   Catharine Schwaab Weicht, relect of the late Leopold E. Weicht, 
born August 3, 1832, in Klien Hausen, Grand Duchey of Hesse 
Darmstadt, Germany; died at her home in Angola, Ind., Dec. 25, 1806 
(NOTE; should be 1896); aged 64 years, 4 months, 22 days.  "Aunt 
Kate" Weicht, as she was familiarly called by her hosts of friends, 
was favorably known as one of he cheery, kind-hearted women of the 
town, and was universally loved and esteemed.  Her Husband died in 
February last, and since then Aunt Kate had been in feeble health.  
She had just returned from a visit with relatives in Ohio.  The 
funeral took place Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Rev. F. M. Kemper 
officiating.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

   Catharine (Schaab/Shwaab) Weicht, 13 Aug 1821 - 25 Dec 1896, on 
10 Aug 1852 married Leopold Edward Weicht, 06 Aug 1830 - 07 Feb 
1896 (Family Bible says Leopold was born 08 Aug 1830 and he married 
in 1853).  He was the son of Dr. Lewis F. Weicht, born about 1790 
and died about 1856.  The 1850 United States Census listed his age 
as 60 and his wife, Fredericka Weicht (Leopold's mother) who died 
01 Apr 1857, age about 64 years.  Leopold and Catharine are buried 
at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana.  Lewis 
and Fredericka are buried at Old Angola Cemetery, Angola, Steuben 
County, Indiana.

CHILDREN:
   Henry B. Weicht, 03 Sep 1854 - 09 Nov 1922, on 04 Jan 1877, 
married 1st Leona (Tyler) Weicht who died Nov 1882.  She was the 
daughter of Simeon and Sarah M. Tyler.  She is also listed on the 
Tyler monumnet.  On 25 Dec 1883, Henry married 2nd, Clara J. 
(McClue) Weicht, 15 Jul 1860 - 14 Jul 1894.  She is buried in the 
same lot with Henry and Leona at Circle Hill Cemetery.  On 03 Jun 
1895, he married his third wife, Mary J. (Beil) Weicht, 1870 - 
1948.   She is buried in the Beil lot at Circle Hill Cemetery.
   Josephine (Weicht) Zipfel, 1855 - 1939, on 29 Dec 1874, married 
Joseph Zipfel, 1847 - 1923.  They are buried at Circle Hill 
Cemetery.
   Samuel J. Weicht, 10 Apr 1858 - 16 Jun 1936, on 07 Jun 1879, 
married Clara (Stocker) Weicht, 10 May 1859 - 1939, daughter of 
Leland W. and Lucy (Mallory) Stocker.  Samuel is buried in Nobel 
County; Clara is buried in Wayne County, Indiana.
   Elizabeth Segma (Weicht) Bachelor, born in 1862, on 29 Jan 1887, 
married Charles A. Bachelor.  Their burial place unknown.
   Katie Rose (Weicht) Willett, born in 1865, on 29 Oct 1884, 
married W. Otis Willett.  Their burial place unknown.

Note:  In Audree Seibel Lewis' card file, she states that Leopold 
Edward Weicht inaugurated the undertaking business, known today as 
Weicht Funeral Home which now has the 5th and 6th generations in 
charge.  In the Norton Collection, Henry B. Weicht also made 
caskets.
