WEICHT, 30 Oct 1889 - 12 Nov 1975 A retired farmer and former Salem township trustee, Vern D. Weicht, 86, of Route 1, Hudson, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, in the Cameron Memorial Community Hospital, Angola. He had been seriously ill the past two months. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 15, in the Salem Center Presbyterian Church with Reverend Paul S. Hopwood, pastor, officiating. Interment followed in the Block Cemetery, Salem Township, Steuben County. Kistler Funeral Home of Hudson was in charge of arrangements. Weicht was born October 30, 1889, in Pleasant Township, Steuben County, to Eugene and Effie (Silvey) Weicht. He was united in marriage to Mildred Leas in Angola on November 26, 1912. She survives. Weicht was a lifetime area resident and a member of the Salem Center Presbyterian Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Mrs. Billy (June) Sunday, of Angola; two grandchildren, Larry Sunday, of Brown Deer, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Linda Lintz, Green Bay, Wisconsin; two great-grandchildren, Patricia and Jennifer Sunday, of Brown Deer, Wisconsin; a niece, Mrs. Charles Coyle, Fort Wayne; two nephews, Carrol and Eugene Glasgow, both of Route 1, Hudson; and a cousin, Gretchen McKee of Avilla. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Vern D. Weicht, 30 Oct 1889 - 12 Nov 1975, son of Eugene F. Weicht, 1857 - 1932, and Effie M. (Silvey) Weicht, 1865 - 1943. Eugene F. Weicht was the son of Dr. Frederick L. H. Weicht, and Susan (McEntaffer) Weicht Dole St.Clair. Vern married Mildred (Leas) Weicht, 30 Jan 1895 - 06 Mar 1983, daughter of Marvin and Elizabeth Jane/Jenny (Henney) Leas, 1865 - 1946. Elizabeth is buried at O-HUD Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Vern and Mildred are buried at Block Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.
