        SARAH SAMS WEST    In Pleasant township, September 18, 1889, Sarah West,
aged 78 years, 6 months, and 23 days died.
        Sarah Sams was born in Green County, Penn., February 28, 1811, and at the
age of 2 years moved with her parents to Richland County, Ohio.  When 22
years of age, she married to George West and four years later, they moved
to Fulton County, Ohio.    46 years ago, they came with 5 children to
Jackson Prairie, Indiana, where her husband died ten years ago.  She had
ten children 5 are still living.  The oldest son Lewis is in California,
and the youngest son John is in  Oregon.  The others are in and near
Angola.
