While a child she moved with her parents to Wood county, Ohio. At the age of ten, she united with the United Brethren church, her father being a minister, and for many years Presiding elder in that church. She was one of a family of twelve children, and the last to be called home. At the age of twenty she was united in marriage with John Willennar, and helped to clear up a farm in Wood county, Ohio. In the spring of 1864 they removed to Steuben county, and purchased a farm near Pleasant Lake, on which she lived until death. She was the mother of seven children, three boys and four girls, five of whom survive her, John and George, and three girls, Margaret, Elizabeth and Mary, who were around her bedside when she passed away. One son, David, gave his life for his country and fills a soldier's grave in the National cemetery at Petersburg, Virginia. Her husband preceded her to the promised land about twenty four years ago. About eighteen months ago she became sorely afflicted and has been a great sufferer. April 6th she received a severe fall which was the immediate cause of her death which took place April 12, 1900, aged 80 years, 1 month and 16 days.
