Steuben-Republican October 1878 Henry H. Williams, whose death occurred at his residence in Otsego township, on the 11th, inst. was born in Delaware county, New York, April 21st, 1795, and was one among the first settlers of this county, having moved here with his family, in the autumn of 1836, settling near Orland, where he lived for some four years, when he removed to Otsego township, and resided there until his death. Mr. Williams was a thorough going farmer full of life and energy, and during the last years of his life, though aged and afflicted, he was remarkably active. He leaves two sons, Wallace and Ephram Williams, who reside in Otsego township, and are well-to-do farmers. Mr. Williams will not only be missed in the home circle and his neighborhood, but also at the annual gatherings of the old settlers of Steuben county. Thus are we reminded again of the certainty of death and of the fact that in a few years at most, the pioneers of '36 will be all numbered with the dead. Sent by J. A. Childers
