STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, January 25, 1899, page 4, column 3 MARTHA ANN DOUDT WIRICK, 19 Jun 1853 - 13 Jan 1899 At the home of her brother-in-law, Henry Wirick, in Angola, Ind., Jan. 18, 1899, Martha Ann, wife of Peter Wirick, aged 45 years, 6 months and 24 days. Deceased was born in Seneca county, Ohio, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Doudt, of Jackson township, Steuben county, Indiana. She came with her parents to this county in 1855 when she was two years old. August 30, 1868, she was married to Peter Wirick, and to this union were born two sons, Frankie L. and Basil. Frankie died in 1871, and Basil is now a student of the Northwestern University in Chicago, where he and his parents have been living the past four years. Mrs. Wirick had been in poor health and with Bright's disease for four months and came to Angola one week previous to her death. The disease soon became serious and death ended her sufferings. It was a severe shock to her friends in Steuben county where she had lived so many years. Funeral services were held in the M. E. church in Angola on Monday, Jan. 16, Rev. F. M. Kemmper officiating.
